My Favourite Village

Hello everyone! This half term, I'm staying with my grandparents because my mum and dad have gone to Dubai for the week. Today, they took us to Clare. It is a beautiful little village that is about 15 minutes away from their house. I thought I'd blog about it because it is my favourite village. There isn't much there in terms of shops but it is very historic.

The first thing we did was take a walk around the park. There is so much beauty in such a small area and it really takes your breath away.

In the park, there is a pathway you can climb it takes you up to where there once stood a castle. The views from up there are so beautiful so I took this picture of the village below.

After all of the walking and climbing, we went for some lunch at a cafe across the road from the park. I thought that the open sign was so cute and vintage. It really suited the rest of the cafe.

Just like any British person, I ordered a cup of tea and a slice of a victoria sponge cake. It was so delicious.

Get To Know Me

Hello everybody! I haven't written a post in quite a while and I apologies but I've had problems with my laptop recently and have been unable to get access to another computer. Anyhow, so you guys could get to know me a bit better, I thought I'd do the '10 questions / facts about me' tag. Enjoy!

1. What is your middle name? My middle name is Grace. My parents where supposed to call me Grace but at the last minute, my dad decided he liked the name Lillie.

2. What is your favourite subject at school? At the moment, my favourite subject is English, mainly because my teacher is such an amazing person.

3. What is your favourite drink? It's really boring but my favourite drink is actually water. One of my new years resolutions was to drink less fizzy drinks and as a result of this, I've come to love water.

4. What is your favourite food? The one food I could eat for the rest of my life is cereal. I love cereal so much however I never have milk with  it as I do not like milk.

5. What is my favourite book of all time? At the moment, my favourite book is The Hobbit.

6. How many siblings do you have? I have two siblings; a 12 year old sister and and 4 year old brother.

7. What is your favourite film? I am a massive film fan and I have seen too many to even remember. However, my top 5 favourite films are The Goonies, Dirty Dancing, It's A Wonderful Life, Grease and Forest Gump.

8. What is your favourite T.V show? I've always really enjoyed Glee and I always will however, I do really like American Horror Story and The Vampire Diaries.

9. What is your dream job? I'd absolutely love to be a make-up artist and work for a successful company like MAC or have my own business. 

10. What colour hair do you have? At the moment, my hair is a dark brown but my natural hair colour is blonde. When I was 13, I was really into pop punk music and I had a sudden impulse to dye my hair darker so I went a dark red colour. I do not regret it at all.

My First MAC Product

At the weekend, my friend and I went to Cambridge to do some shopping and we quickly popped into MAC. Usually, I don't really go into there because otherwise I'll spend all of my money in one go but I thought I'd treat myself.

I picked up my first ever MAC lipstick in the shade 'fanfare'. It is a lovely nude with a slight pinky hint to it. It is a cremesheen so it looks beautiful and glossy on the lips. Overall, I really love this product and it is well worth the money I paid for it.

Winter Make-Up

In winter, one of the most popular make-up looks is the smokey eye with a dark berry lip. I think this make-up suits the majority of people and it is so easy to achieve. This is one of my personal favourites so I thought I'd share with you how I create it.

To start with, I put my Rimmel London wake me up foundation on. In the cold weather, I tend to notice that my complexion looks really colourless and tired pretty much all of the time. This foundation is brilliant for making you look a bit more awake and perky. To apply this I used the Real Techniques buffing brush.

Next, I put some concealer on under my eyes, on any areas of redness and blemishes. For this, I used my lasting perfection ultimate ware concealer by Collection. I could not love this product more! It has such good coverage and lasts for a very long time, even through the cold weather. To apply this I used the Real Techniques pointed foundation brush.

After letting my foundation and concealer set for a little while, I applied the Rimmel London stay matte powder. I have used this product for years and unless I find anything better, I will be using it for many years to come. To apply this I used the Real Techniques powder brush.

Moving on to brows. The only product I use is the Maybelline brow drama in medium brown. I need my eyebrows done really badly at the moment so all I do is brush some of the product through and then shape them into my desired position.

Now for the eyes. In my previous post, I wrote about the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and I'm still so obsessed. First, I applied YDK all over the lid and blended it out. For this, I used my base shadow brush by Real Techniques. In my crease, I put the shade tease and blended that out with a Real Techniques deluxe crease brush. Then, I mixed the colours together and put a little bit under my eyes to balance it out. To do that, I used the Real Techniques accent brush.

Since the eyeshadow is quite bold, I only put a thin line of eyeliner on to define my lashes. To do this, I used the Bourjois liquid eyeliner. This eyeliner is one of my favourites because the applicator is so amazing; The bristles stay in place and it is so easy to put on.

For mascara, I used the Clinque lash power mascara. I got this as a Christmas presents from my grandparents and it is the best mascara I've ever had. It separates my lashes as well as making them look longer and defined.

Finally, I used my Rimmel London lasting finish by Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 107. Overall, I really love this lipstick. It gives a matte finish whilst making my lips feel soft and moisturised.

Naked 2

One of the many presents I got for Christmas 2014, was an Urban Decay Naked 2 palette (screams with excitement). I had been wanting one of these for ages however I couldn't bring myself to spend £37 pounds on it. A good alternative was to ask Father Christmas for it and I definitely wasn't disappointed.

I had read endless amounts of beauty bloggers rave about this product for a very long time and I had been so eager to try it. At the moment, my favourite shades are chopper and tease; I think these products look great together. It achieves a good balance between a matte and shimmery finish which is perfect for almost all occasions. 

The only reason I struggle to use this palette for a casual look is because there are only three matte colours: tease, foxy and blackout (which I couldn't use on an everyday basis). I will certainly have to invest in Naked 2 basic palette because the colours are a lot more matte.

Goodbye 2014. Hello 2015

One of my favourite things to do is to look through old photos. I can't count how many times me and mum have sat down and looked through photo albums from when I was younger. They always bring back such good memories.

As it is almost the end of 2014, it seemed only appropriate to look back on some of the memories I have made this year. Although 2014 hasn't been consistently good for me, I have made some amazing memories that I will never forget.

In April, my family and I took a day trip to London; we went to Madam Tussauds and the London Eye. It was such a good day! We don't live too far away from London, so me and my family often take day trips there. Also this year, my grandparents took us to see The Lion King in the westend. That was also an amazing day! 

The best day of the year by far was when three of my bestfriends and I went to see McBusted in Chauntry Park in Ipswich. It was my first time going to a festival/concert and it was an amazing experience. The only downside to the day was that the weather was pants (but I do live in England so what else can we expect?) however, it was still an amazing day!

This year, me and my family went back to the same holiday resort for the second year in a row. It is an amazing 5 star hotel in a beautiful area in Turkey. We all had such a great week away. On the third day of our holiday, my little brother tripped and cut his head on the corner of a table. He worried us so much but thankfully, he was okay.

In 2015, I hope to write more on this blog. I'm very interested in fashion and beauty so that is the sort of content I will write about. Besides beauty and fashion, I hope to upload the occasional baking and lifestyle post. Thanks for reading.
